Lanark marks the town’s ancient Lanimer celebrations wide a wide range of events taking place throughout the week, culminating in Lanimer Day on Friday 9 June.
During Lanimer Week the festivities include, but are not limited to, the Kirkin’ of the Lord Cornet Elect, the Perambulation of the Marches and Shifting of the Standard, the Official Lanimer Ride Out, the Lanimer Procession and the Lanimer Ball.
The Procession begins at 10am from the head of St Leonard Street. It's best into the town centre as early as possible in order to get the best view of the spectacular occasion.
Although a local celebration, Lanimer Week is not just for locals - anyone is welcome to join in the fun. The best way to form your own impressions of one of Scotland’s oldest festivals is to take part in it!
