The Haven is a registered charity providing support to people affected by a range of life limiting illnesses such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s disease and dementia and will signpost others to services appropriate to their needs.
The role of Volunteer Complementary Therapist is integral to the services we provide and forms part of our multi-disciplinary team. They will provide holistic, one to one and groupwork relaxation/complementary therapies to clients, in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team, they will also be required to maintain professional records of treatments in client notes and any changes in the client’s condition or progress.
Experience of delivering therapies in a health/social care environment is desirable.
Educated to Diploma level in a minimum of two or more complementary therapies eg. Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Membership of regulatory body – e.g. FHT, CNHC
Potential Centre Volunteers will need to take part in our induction process which consists of four training modules and a 12 week trial period. They will also be asked to give two referees, undergo a “Protection of Vulnerable Groups,” disclosure check (the cost of which will be met by The Haven).
