The Horse & Jockey, a traditional pub nestled in its central position on Lanark High Street, has been one constant in the changing face of Lanark over the last centuries.
The Horse & Jockey got its present name from its links to Lanark Racecourse.
The famous Silver Bell trophy was first competed for at Lanark Moor in 1628. The pub appears as a hostelry on the oldest map of Lanark in existence which dates to around 1760AD.
Their hearty pub lunches are served in the Lounge from Monday to Saturday from 11.30am - 2.30pm. Their evening meals are served a la carte on Saturday from 5pm - 8.30pm.
