There are a wide variety of activities held at the YMCA for people of all ages, although the main aim of the association is to encourage the development of young people. The facilities act as a focal point for many user groups within the local community.
We have a large hall and various smaller rooms which are used by user groups for a range of activities. We charge a letting fee to cover our insurance and utility costs. Some activities are provided by third parties while others are run by volunteers. We also have classes run by the local authority for pre-school children.
There is an emphasis on exercise with gymnastics and badminton clubs running for children and young adults. We also support a 50+ sports club and a snooker club. Our smaller meeting rooms are used by a variety of clubs and societies.
We offer facilities to any group which operates within the community and whose aims are not incompatible with ours. Any restriction tends to be availability of space as rooms are used most evenings. Daytime usage is lighter.
