Lanark United keep up winning run with 2-0 win against Muirkirk Juniors

United kept up their winning run and dented Muirkirk's faint promotion hopes at Moor Park on Satruday. Lanark opened the scoring on 20 minutes when Michael Howie handled a corner kick indide the box and Lewis Hill scored with the resultant penalty.
In a well contested first half both teams had chances but the respective goalkeepers were in good form producing several excellent saves.
On 52 minutes United 'keeper Gareth Hallford turned a powerful free kick from Niall Carslaw over the bar before Ian Watt got himself clear but saw his shot well saved by 'keeper Nathan Bogle. Lanark doubled their score on 67 minutes when when a shot was blocked but Sub' Jordan Fraser followed up to hit the ball over the stranded 'keeper into the net for a well taken goal. Keeper Bogle was again in action on 77 minutes to turn a Cammy Lawson free kick away for a corner. Late in the game Watt had a couple of good efforts saved by Bogle before the referee blew for time-up and United collected another three valuable points.
