Biggar Rugby Club Under 16s Boys reach National Cup Final
Biggar Rugby Club Under 16s Boys reach the National Cup Final and will play Stirling rugby club at BT Murrayfield on Sunday 31st of March.
The squad of 30 boys come from all across Clydesdale and beyond. Ten come from Lanark, with seven of them attending Lanark Grammar School. The rest of the squad is made up of boys attending Biggar High, Hamilton College, other local schools or recent school leavers.
Reaching the cup final beating Melrose, Hawick and Currie on the way is a huge achievement for the boys and club. Its 25 years since an age grade boys team from Biggar has won a National Cup Final and this u16s team has a great opportunity. The two teams have met twice this season with honours’ even so far.
Head Coach, Kenny Lean explained “This is a truly significant achievement for the boys and well deserved for all their hard work. It's a great honour for them all to play on the main pitch at BT Murrayfield and it should be a great show case of rugby. It’s a big stadium and I am sure the boys will appreciate all the support they get"
