Lanark ASC win Peebles Stars of Future title for the fifth time

The Lanark team can be proud of their achievements

Lanark ASC have retained the Peebles Stars of Future overall trophy and the relay trophy for the fifth successive year after a strong display by the Royal Burgh side.

The young guns defeated Eyemouth, Fauldhouse, Gala, Hawick, Kelso and host club Peebles, posting over 100 personal best times.

Thirty-eight Lanark ASC swimmers, all aged under 12, won 33 speeding tickets, 19 gold, 14 silver and 14 bronze medals.

After the meet coach Karen Kelly said: “This year Peebles ASC held their Stars of Future Meet at Galashiels so it was a new venue to visit for the club. Many of the swimmers had only ever competed at Lanark and Larkhall so this was a new challenge which they handled very well.

“The pool staff also commented on the club and said they were the best behaved club that they had ever seen at Galashiels!

“All the swimmers can be proud of their efforts in and out of the pool.”
