Lanark Tolbooth hosts Primary School art exhibition

Tolbooth Primary School Art Exhibition

The Tolbooth Heritage and Arts Centre is hosting its annual primary schools’ art exhibition from the 17th to the 21st of June 2019, sponsored by Border Biscuits. 

Entries will be from primary seven pupils on the theme of ‘Arts, culture and heritage in Lanark’ and the art work can be in any form, using any media. 

There will be a Daily School Takeover of art work upstairs in The Tolbooth, open from 12-4pm. The schedule for the daily takeover is as follows:

  • Monday 17th June – Lanark Primary School
  • Tuesday 18th June – St Mary’s Primary School
  • Wednesday 19th June – New Lanark and Kirkfieldbank Primary Schools
  • Thursday 20th June – Robert Owen Primary School

Downstairs, a selection of winning entries will be on display. The panel of judges will be selecting winners based on:

  • Best interpretation of the theme
  • Most innovative use of materials
  • People’s prize – as voted for by visitors to the exhibition

A prize ceremony will be held at 12.30PM on Friday 21st June, with exclusive invitations given to all the artists from the Winners Exhibition. Prizes include individual art sets and art resources for the winning school.
