Easter Monday fun at Castlebank Horticultural Centre
Spring is here and Castlebank Horticultural Centre is opening its doors to the public with an ‘Easter Open Day’ on Easter Monday 22nd April, with a range of activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Children will be able to explore the beautiful gardens of Castlebank Park whilst enjoying a number of fun Easter & nature themed activities, such as: An Easter Egg Number Hunt, Spring Scavenger Boxes, Seed Sowing and Minibeast hunts.
Up at the Horticultural Centre there will be: plant sales, teas & coffees and tombola. At 1pm the Easter Bonnet competition will be judged by a special guest!
Also joining in on the event will be ‘Sand Art with Heather’, and ‘Wild about Lanark’ who will be running an outdoor play session in the Fairy Dell from 12-2pm.
Entry to the event is free and certain activities are available by donation. Fundraising proceeds from the event will go towards the continued regeneration of Castlebank Park.
Castlebank Horticultural Centre is managed by Lanark Community Development Trust. In partnership with Lanark in Bloom, volunteers have worked tirelessly to transform the derelict gardens of Castlebank Park to their former glory for the local community to enjoy. Castlebank Park is now 1 of Scotland’s 71 Green Flag Parks. New volunteers are always welcome on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Weekend volunteer dates are taking places on 13th April, 19th May and 15th June.
The ‘Easter Open Day’ at Castlebank Horticultural Centre is open from 12-3pm.
