Local photographers capture best shots of Castlebank Park

Castlebank photography winners

Pretty as a picture - winners of the Castlebank photography competition

In September 2018, Lanark Community Development Trust (LCDT) invited members of the local community to submit their photos to the ‘Capture Castlebank Park’ photography competition. The photos would be used to decorate the walls of the newly renovated Community Hub building within the Horticultural Centre. Entrants were advised to send in photos capturing either of these themes: the changing seasons, woodland and wildlife, plants and horticulture.

On Friday 30th November, the local winners were invited to Castlebank Park to be presented with a framed copy of their winning photographs.

The winners were: Alison Reilly, David Donaghue, David Woodhams, Emma Gibson, Helen McCall and Sharon Crossan.

Melissa Reilly, LCDT Development Manager said “we were very impressed with the number of high-quality entries we received - we have a lot of photography talent in Lanark! The images we have chosen as the winner truly reflect the beauty of Castlebank Park in all seasons. The canvas prints will look fantastic in the new centre which just opened earlier this month.”

Photographed: David Donaghue, David Woodhams, Emma Gibson, Helen McCall, Sharon Crossan and Melissa Reilly, LCDT Development Manager.
