Lanark’s star gardens revealed in Strictly Come Gardening awards
The project was revived by the Community Council last year
The top gardens in Lanark this year have now been announced after judges toured the town as part of the Strictly Come Gardening awards.
The Royal Burgh of Lanark Community Council, which organises the initiative, put out a call in June for locals to suggest top gardens in the town and judging took place on Monday 23 July.
This year’s winners are as follows:
Large Garden: Lorna Seath and Jill Murie (Albany Drive)
Small/Medium Garden: Alistair and Barbara Gunn (Wheatland Drive)
Runner-up Emma Dawson (Waterloo Drive)
Courtyard/Container Garden: Drew Towse (Westport House)
Runner-up Jim and Helen Cockburn (Delves Road)
The winners will receive their trophies at a prizegiving ceremony held by Lanark Garden Club.
