Anya’s Rocking All Over the World with Funbox
You can join Anya and the Funbox gang in Lanark on Saturday 23 June
Lanark’s Anya Scott-Rodgers can’t wait to return home with Funbox’s latest show, Rocking All Over the World, later this month and believes that her early years treading the boards in the town has played a big part in her career.
Anya formed Funbox in 2014 alongside former Singing Kettle members Gary Coupland and Kevin Macleod. The trio took to the stage the following year and since then have been everything from pirates to superheroes and have recently been singing and stomping with dinosaurs.
This time the shades are on, the bling is out and you’re invited to join the band with pop princess Anya, rock star Kevin, punk rocker Gary and hip-hop Bonzo the dog in their brand new production at Greyfriars Church on Saturday 23 June at 1pm.
Funbox has gone from strength to strength, quickly becoming firm family favourites and Scotland’s premier children’s entertainment company. Funbox offers the same traditional songs and silliness known and loved by many but with their own brand of manic humour with a modern twist.
“We get to act like kids all day, who wouldn’t love to make a living out of that?” said Anya. “I was even one of Miss Jean Brodie’s girls with Greyfriars Theatre Company in the church many moons ago!
“It’s always lovely to come back home. I still smile and think fondly of my time with Lanark Panto Club, ICE and LAMS and wouldn’t be doing what I am today without them.”
Join the gang as they travel around the world in 80 minutes creating musical mayhem wherever they go while finding their elusive keys. You’re all invited to join their band for singalong silliness - you might even get to help on stage!
Packed with favourites like Parlez-Vous, Buy Me A Banana and The Music Man, as well as brand new songs, Rocking All Over the World is the perfect excuse to let your hair down, sing, dance and be a music legend.
