This circular walk starts and ends at Lanark's Water Tower, an imposing industrial figure in Lanark's skyline which can be seen from miles around. Head along Lanark Road towards Ravenstruther, past the site of the former St Mary's Hospital take a right hand turn into a woodland path which will lead you to the former Smyllum Park Orphanage 1864 - 1981 (now developed into housing).
The walk then heads along the picturesque tree-lined Greenlady Walk before arriving at Flush Park. From here, the quickest way back to the Water Tower starting point is to head past St Mary's Primary School on Skye Walk, then uphill and around Smyllum Road.
