On Friday, 22 November, the Illuminated Lanimer Parade and Late Night Shopping will make its return from 5pm to 8pm, offering an enchanting illuminated parade, festive performances, and late night opening at local shops for a special evening of seasonal shopping.
Lanark Christmas Pop-Up Market on Saturday, 7 December will feature over 30 local artisans and producers, open from 10am to 3pm, giving visitors another chance to find one-of-a-kind, locally-made gifts.
Santa will be back with his Elves and Poppy the Cheeky Penguin for two Santa Saturdays on 14 and 21 December from 11.30am to 3.30pm in the Tolbooth. Families can enjoy storytelling, holiday crafts, photos with Santa, and a meet-and-greet with the big man himself.
Antonia Pompa, Discover Lanark Manager, expressed her excitement for the events, saying, “We are thrilled to welcome visitors to our town centre. There’s so much happening this year, and the festive spirit will be in full swing. Christmas is a vital time for our traders, and now more than ever, we encourage everyone to support Lanark’s local shops and businesses. Join us in celebrating and shopping local this holiday season!”
Lanark’s Christmas festivities are organized and funded by South Lanarkshire Council, Discover Lanark, Lanark Lanimer Committee, and other community partners.
