Music in Lanark is appealing for help from music lovers to support the organisation to continue delivering fabulous live concerts for the local community.
After a year without being able to stage any live events because of COVID-19, Music in Lanark now needs new committee members to support its work and enable it to restart staging concerts from the autumn onwards.
Chrissy Pritchard, chair of Music in Lanark said, “We need some more able and willing people to step up and volunteer to help run Music in Lanark. An organization that puts on concerts cannot run without the support of an enthusiastic committee and so I am appealing to anyone with an interest in live concerts and a bit of time to spare to get in touch. There are a variety of roles to fill depending on your interests and skills.”
She added, “It can be very rewarding and is a great opportunity to have your say on the kind of music and musicians we bring to perform in Lanark. You can help shape the future of music in the town and help maintain one of the jewels in Lanark's cultural life.”
Concerts are held regularly in the magnificent setting of the Musicians’ Room in New Lanark.
