Whether you are an experienced board director or you have never been on a board before, we want to hear from you if you are keen to bring your ideas and skills to play an active role in shaping Lanark’s future.
The search for new board members comes at an exciting time for the organisation tasked with supporting the town’s business and wider community. A recent BID renewal ballot saw businesses and organisations across Lanark vote decisively to renew the BID’s five-year mandate to deliver a range of projects, services and events until 2029.
Now Discover Lanark is seeking new board members who are passionate about Lanark and its business community, and who want to play an active role in the town’s future.
Antonia Pompa, BID Manager, said, “We are looking for enthusiastic new board members to help drive our work forward.”
“We were delighted to receive a 75% yes vote in the BID renewal ballot and are keen to build on that momentum. If you are a business owner or manager, or work for an organisation that pays the BID levy, and are happy to bring your expertise, ideas and enthusiasm to help Lanark, we would love to hear from you.”
She added, “The Discover Lanark board meets once a month for approximately an hour and a half. Board members are key to ensuring that we communicate effectively with local businesses and that we are delivering the projects they identified as important to them in the lead up to the renewal ballot.”
Discover Lanark is set to invest over £900,000 into Lanark over the next five years across four key themes: Increasing footfall and spend, Marketing of the town to locals and visitors, Supporting our businesses, and Delivering a welcoming, attractive and safer town.
Business owners and managers interested in finding out more about the role are asked to contact Antonia Pompa, BID Manager, at antonia@discoverlanark.co.uk or on 07309 782060 for an informal discussion and an application form.
