Graeme Gracie has recently welcomed his daughter, Erin, onto the staff at Country Carpets where she is learning how the business works and is gaining first-hand experience from her dad.
Graeme, a Lanark resident, already employs his brother in-law Martin and his nephew Kevin, as well as non-family members John, the store manager for over 15 years, and Graeme. He said, “It is great that Erin has joined the team and that we can work together as a family.”
Country Carpets in Lanark is, in every sense, a family run business. Founded in 2004, Graeme initially had both a bike store and the carpet store, but subsequently decided to focus on the carpet side of the business.
“Business has been great, and we’re proud to serve the people of Lanark and the surrounding area.” Graeme said when asked how customers have reacted to the business. He puts the public’s positive response down to a couple of crucial factors: “I think it is because we have a wide range of flooring and can suit any taste. We do our best provide a high level of service and can help with measuring to fitting.”
Country Carpets stocks a large amount of flooring including carpet, vinyl, laminate, wood and underlay. They provide a free planning and estimate service which Graeme believes is another reason why people have supported his business.
The showroom is open Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm, and Saturday 9am until 4pm. Graeme is happy to arrange appointments in the evenings or Sundays if customers can’t make it during normal opening hours.
