Boutique Baby Childrenswear, A Hidden Gem!

Sam Louden is understandably proud to have brought the very best baby and childrenswear to Lanark for nearly a decade. Indeed, many local families will have grown up wearing clothes bought from her delightful independent shop in St Leonard Street.

Sam has steadily grown her business, Boutique Baby Childrenswear, to cater for a wide age range from new-borns right up to 16 year-olds.  Speaking about this, Sam said, “One of the things I hear most from customers is that they didn’t realise the size of the shop and the range of products we sell.”

A visit to her shop, located just along from Lanark Memorial Hall, is strongly recommended and reveals an extensive range of clothing including brands such as Mayoral, DKNY and Hugo Boss, as well as an excellent selection of gifts, toys and dolls.

The store was renovated and expanded prior to Covid, and now boasts an even greater variety of sections and themes. Sam said, “It was frustrating that we renovated just before lockdown and then most of our sales moved online. People haven’t really been able to experience all that we have to offer in store and we really do welcome in person visits.”

For Sam part of the joy of owning the shop is meeting and helping her customers. “I really enjoy the personal touch, from helping a new grandmother pick out a gift, to showing a mum a range of outfits for Lanimers. I passionately believe in making the shopping experience that little bit special.”

Indeed, with Lanimers not far away, now is an ideal time to visit.

Sam has plans to expand her offer further with new lines and brands on the way. “I receive a lot of enquiries about shoes and will be adding them to our stock. They should be available for August, along with our autumn and winter range.”

Sam has a fun day planned for April to highlight her business and encourage in person shoppers. She said, “The fun day is an ideal way of inviting local people to my shop to see what we have to offer, as well as providing something entertaining for the kids.” She is busy putting the finishing touches in place and promises an enjoyable event for families to come along to.
