Health, Safety & Environment Advisor
Monday to Friday 40 hours per week Permanent Site based, Lanark
£35,000 - £40,000 DOE

About the Role:
The HSE Advisor will in conjunction with the wider operations team, set and drive Border’s health and safety strategy ensuring Border is a safe place to work by promoting and driving a safety-first culture at all levels. The HSE Advisor will also drive Border’s environmental strategy in alignment with Company purpose and Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy.
Key duties:
Support Operations through development, embedding and promotion of health, safety and environmental standards within the Company and implementing and maintaining Company HSE, policies, procedures, standards and working practices ; enhancing the safety culture within the business ensuring a focus towards zero accidents and injury
To ensure the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and supporting procedures are implemented consistently across the Company
To monitor, evaluate and review Health and Safety policy and practices, make recommendations and amend as required
To advise on the implications of current and emerging health and safety legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations, and generating action plans to ensure compliance across the Company
Develop and deliver in-house training with managers and employees on all relevant aspects of health and safety
Ensure the HSE function provide the required expertise to all areas of the business, with a focus on continuous improvement
Work within all business areas to ensure HSE standards are appropriately implemented within their areas of control and are sufficiently robust for anticipated demands
Provide input for regular HSE communications for all levels of staff to include written information, toolbox talks and management briefs
Support CSR strategy and appropriate actions.
What Are We Looking For?
Hold a minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
Experience of working in a similar role within a FMCG/Manufacturing environment.
String working experience of H&S and environmental systems and legislation such as ISO45001/ISO 14001
Strong & confident communicator and good stakeholder management skills.
Promotes positive workplace culture, inspiring and influencing others.
Excellent numeracy, analytical & problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
Passion for continuous improvement

Key Role Requirements
