The Haven, a registered charity which provides support to people affected by a range of life limiting illnesses and to their family members and carers and supports people across the whole of North and South Lanarkshire through centres in Blantyre, Wishaw and Forth, has continued to grow and develop their volunteer recruitment programme at their Forth centre. The ‘Be Included-Be Involved’ project launched last year and has so far successfully provided increased opportunities to people in the local area who due to long-term illness, caring responsibilities, age or accessibility haven’t had the opportunity to volunteer before. Roles for volunteers are flexible and include peer support, complementary therapists, drivers, admin support, receptionists, gardeners, fundraising and event support and walking group support. The Haven welcomes both volunteers who want to give their time in a regular time-slot or could only commit more flexibly. This Valentine’s Day we invite you to share the love with The Haven and come along to our information session to find out more about the different volunteering opportunities available at The Haven. This drop in session will take place between 11am – 1pm on Thursday 14th February at our centre, 36 Manse Road, Forth, ML11 8AJ.
