Lanark United duo sign for Albion Rovers

Hallford has a chance to make his mark in the senior ranks for the first time

Lanark United have produced two players for the senior game with goalkeeper Gareth Hallford and striker Ronan Kearney signing for Scottish League Two side Albion Rovers.

The pair will reunite with former Yowes manager John Brogan, who is now in charge at Cliftonhill.

Brogan has raided the junior ranks as he looks to bolster the Coatbridge club, with Larkhall Thistle forward Graham Gracie also putting pen to paper on a deal.

The Rovers are targeting an immediate return to League One after being relegated at the end of the season.

Hallford joined the Royal Burgh outfit in 2016 from Newmains United, going on to be named player of the year at the Moor Park club.

The goalkeeper left Lanark mid-way through last season for Carluke Rovers, before returning to United in January 2018.

Kearney arrived on loan from Alloa Athletic in 2016 and was a key player for the Yowes, with the 18-year-old set for a bright future in the game.
