Get ready to rock with free 'Sing Lanrik' Community Choir

Sing Lanrik group

Singers of all ages are invited to join the Sing Lanrik choir on a Sunday afternoon

Sing Lanrik begin their second session on Sunday 13th January 2019 at the Harry Smith Complex, 3.30pm - 5.30pm.

Membership is free and the community choir is open to adults and children of school age.

In January 2019, under the instruction of Sheena Fox, the group will begin working on a programme of Classic Rock anthems and Ballads, aptly named 'Rock of Ages'. Favourites from Queen, Elton John, Guns n Roses, Aerosmith to name a few.

The choir will be joined by Peter Sheperd as accompanist, an Oxford Music Scholar who enjoys and performs a wide range of musical styles from Classical to Pop. Peter's Rock band Nightbridge will feature in the choir's performance later in the year alongside guests as soloists.

Choir Leader Sheena Fox said "singing is an activity we can all take part in whatever your age or background and it is proven to improve mental health, not to mention it's great fun! Everyone has a voice. Bring yours from the shower to Sing Lanrik!"

Sheena continued "a cuppa and a chance to chat is an important part of our weekly meetings. It's a very friendly and welcoming environment and a great way to make new friends. We're very grateful to Morrisons for supplying us with tea, coffee and treats."
