Beechgrove resident celebrates 106th birthday

Millar Stoddart visited Jessie at Beechgrove Care Home to celebrate her achievement

Beechgrove Care Home resident Jessie Malcolm celebrated her 106th birthday in style last Wednesday with a presentation from Deputy Lieutenant of Lanarkshire, Millar Stoddart, and Provost Iain McAllan.

Jessie was born on the 21st June 1911 to James and Margaret Ostler at their home in Greenburn District of Fauldhouse, West Lothian.

She has six children, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

This was the third time Jessie has received the Queen’s telegram having had one for her 100th and also last year for her 105th birthday, where on both occasions the Queen’s representative for West Lothian did the presentation at her former home in Whitburn.
