Discover Lanark

About Discover Lanark BID

Discover Lanark is about more than retail, it’s about embracing all parts of the town’s economy. It’s about delivering benefits to all the town’s businesses and crucially, it’s about giving businesses of all sizes a uniformed voice.

Recently, the Lanark Business community backed a five-year BID. A BID is an initiative where businesses work in partnership with Local Authorities to develop their town.  Discover Lanark plan to use the levies paid plus grants and other funding streams to support a number of projects, including improving how Lanark is presented to locals and visitors, putting successful businesses at the heart of Lanark’s community and working together to capitalise on the level of tourism the town enjoys.

Lanark’s 5-year BID aims to deliver improvement through four main pillars:

  • Appearance & Access – Improving how Lanark is presented to locals and visitors
  • Business – Putting successful businesses at the heart of Lanark’s community
  • Community – Businesses and community working together for a better Lanark
  • Lanark and New Lanark – working together to capitalise on tourism
